The Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus (Maus) was a German WWII super-heavy tank that was completed in 1944. The Maus is the heaviest enclosed armored fighting vehicle ever built. Five of them were ordered for production but only two hulls and one turret were completed. The Maus weighed around 188 metric tons. The tank used a 128mm Kwk 44 L/55 gun that was based on the 12.8cm Pak 44. The 12.8cm Pak 44 design was also used in the Jagdtiger tank destroyer. The gun on the Maus was strong enough to destroy all Allied AFVs (Armored Fighting Vehicles) in service.
